Notice of Road Closures for L'Etape Slovenia 2024
On September 7 and 8, 2024, the roads and connections to the roads along which the routes of the L'Etape Slovenia cycling trials lead will be completely closed from time to time.
To ensure the safe execution of the L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France cycling event and to ensure the satisfaction of all participants, the roads and access roads along the event routes will be temporarily closed for short periods (30-60 minutes) on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8, 2024.
Saturday's L'Etape Slovenia Cycling Events – Partial or Full Road Closures from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Children's cycling events will take place in Kranj near the main venue on Slovenski trg from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM, on a circuit 800 meters long, along the following streets:
- Koroška cesta (Hotel Creina, start)–Gregorčičeva ulica–Stritarjeva ulica–Koroška cesta.
The Family and All-Generations Cycling: a 12.5 km route starting at 3:30 PM, will take place on the Kranj–Brdo–Kranj route:
Starting near Slovenski trg, the route continues through the city center and leads through Primskovo towards Britof, where it turns towards Brdo. Passing the Brdo estate, it continues to Kokrica, where it turns left towards Rupa. At the intersection with Oldhamska cesta, it turns left again and continues along Staneta Žagarja Street to the intersection with Likozarjeva Street, where it returns to Glavni trg in the city center of Kranj, ending at Koroška cesta.
K0.0lesari na polno challenge starting at 5 p.m.
Finally, there will be the K0.0.lesari na polno challenge, where 150 selected cyclists will compete against Matej Mohorič on Jelenov klanec. Each participant will start individually at the 30 sec interval.
From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, there will be partial or full road closures on the routes of Saturday's cycling events.
Sunday's L'Etape Slovenia Challenges – Partial or Full Road Closures from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Starting at 9:00 AM on Koroška cesta near Gimnazija Kranj, the 81 km and 150 km routes will pass through multiple municipalities:
- Kranj, Škofja Loka, Medvode, Vodice, Komenda, Kamnik, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Šenčur, Preddvor, Radovljica, Tržič, and back to Kranj.
To ensure the safe and smooth execution of the race, roads will be temporarily closed for short periods (30-60 minutes). During closures, traffic will be allowed through for a maximum of 15 minutes. Roads and intermediate junctions will be closed according to the race schedule. All roads and junctions will be reopened to traffic as soon as the last cyclist has passed the critical point. Between groups of cyclists, traffic in the direction of the race will be allowed during the interim period.
