We are all looking forward to the upcoming weekend, as the premiere L'Etape Slovenia, a cycling event that has never been seen in Slovenia, will take place. The greatest pleasure will certainly be the Sunday ride on closed roads, and the greatest attraction will be the colorful peloton of more than 1,000 cyclists, which will take us through as many as eleven municipalities in Gorenjska region.

Starting at 9:00 a.m. in the center of Kranj

Starting at 9:00 a.m. in the center of Kranj, the peloton will first go through the center of the city along the left bank of the Sava River and cycle all the way to Trboje in a controlled manner – to warm-up and parade - until kilometer zero. From there the race starts! For personal victories and above all - enjoying the beautiful Slovenian landscape, which offers many beautiful views of the country's rich natural and cultural heritage. All the way to the finish line in Kranj, where everyone will receive a medal. That's why for us all the cyclists of L'Etape Slovenia are our heroes.

There will be some turning points on the route, as the cycling peloton will compete for the iconic Tour de France jerseys: yellow (sponsor: Generali), green (sponsor: Visit Kranj), polka-dot (sponsor: Gorenjska banka) and white (sponsor: Cycling club Kranj). There will be plenty of action at both mountain finishes: Šenturška Gora and Jamnik, where the peloton of cyclists will be encouraged by Didi the Devil himself, the recognizable iconic mascot of the Tour de France.

But before that, Saturday's event will be no less important, where we expect many cycling fans, families with children and toddlers to feel a little bit of the Tour de France experience. All Saturday family and children's cycling tours are free of charge and are provided by Gorenjska banka, but prior registration is required.

In any case, we would not have been able to organize such a large event if we did not have many partners, the willingness of the host city of Kranj and all the municipalities through which the route runs.
