Information for Participants of the K0.0lesari na polno! Challenge

We reveal the startlist of 150 challengers in the Matej Mohorič boutique Union Radler challenge K0.0lesari na polno!

As part of the Saturday event L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France, we are hosting an exclusive boutique challenge, K0.0lesari na polno! 150 daring cyclists will compete in the ascent of Jelenov klanec, attempting to beat the time set by our ambassador and top cyclist, Matej Mohorič. Participation in this exciting challenge is free, courtesy of the event partner, Pivovarna Union.

First Challenger Starts at 5:00 PM

The cycling-themed weekend in the spirit of the Tour de France begins on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with the first of the 150 participants in the K0.0lesari na polno! challenge starting at 5:00 PM.

The start will be individual, with a 30-second interval, continuing until 6:15 PM when Matej Mohorič will be the last to start. But beware! Matej will not be cycling under ideal conditions; he will face something that will make his ride more challenging. What obstacle he will face, or how he will have to cycle, or on what, remains a secret. So, be brave—every challenger has a chance to win! All participants have been informed about their placement on the start list via email. Among the challengers are 20 female cyclists and 130 male cyclists, primarily from Slovenia, followed by participants from Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Bulgaria, Italy, the Czech Republic, and the United States.

Start Number and Jersey pick up

Participants will collect their start number with a timing chip and the Union-themed jersey on the day of the event, Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM to no later than 4:00 PM in the lobby of the Kranj City Hall. Collection is only possible in person.

Dress code: official challenge cycling Jersey

Participants must wear the official challenge cycling jersey, uniquely designed by Ale. The jersey was provided free of charge to registered challengers. Participation without wearing the official jersey is not allowed.

Important Information About the Challenge

Only road bikes are allowed; no e-bikes or other assisted bikes.
A helmet is mandatory.
Check your start time and ensure timely arrival at the starting point. If you miss your time, you lose the right to start.
The start is on Koroška Road at the marked spot (opposite the Creina Hotel). After a few meters of flat terrain, there is a descent down Jelenov klanec. The descent time is not measured, so we recommend extreme caution and slow speed. Better safe than sorry!
After the descent, just before the roundabout, you will need to turn around and start the ascent. Your time will begin once you cross the marked line on the road— the mat.
The finish is at the top of the climb, clearly marked.
Only the ascent time is measured, and only the ascent time counts for the final ranking.

Warm-Up Before the Start

We recommend a good warm-up before starting, as this reduces the risk of injury. Be aware of your abilities and how you feel on the day of the competition. The competition will take place on a road closed to other traffic, but warming up on the challenge route—i.e., on Jelenov klanec—will no longer be possible after 4:50 PM for the safety of the competitors on the course. Ensure adequate hydration and nutrition. Respect your body and ensure your safety and the safety of others.
