For its first edition, L'Etape Egypt by Tour de France has been a real success for the riders and all people who came to cheer and enjoy the atmosphere of the event. On September 22th, 370 riders took started from Charm el-Cheick Museum to challenge through one of the 3 race formats: the Race (170km) & the Ride (62km). The peloton was mainly composed from participants who came to discover this amazing Sinaï region and challenge themselves through the challenging routes of the event.

THE RACES

At seven o'clock in the morning, 370 cyclists started their race to from Charm El-Cheick Museum, either through the 170km, the 96km or 40km format. The route started on one of the must important road of the city, before starting the never ending 85km to Dahab with more than 20 kilometers climb. The route offered to participants all the landscapes you can enjoy in Egypt with sea, desert and montain. Local people were cheering the riders in a very nice atmosphere.

Some very special spectators were waiting the riders on their way back !!
