L'Étape Championship | 2024 final

Look back on the week-end of our Championship riders in Nice, for the 32nd edition of L'Étape du Tour.

On July 6, the 32^nd edition of L'Étape du Tour de France hosted this years again the L'Étape Championship final, gathering the best riders from the whole Series. Between Nice and Col de la Couillole, on the exact same route as the Tour de France's 20^th stage, they fought for the title of L'Étape Series 2024 champion.

On last July 6, 52 special guests took the start of the 32^nd L'Étape du Tour. Among the 12,000 cyclists that rode between Nice and Col de la Couillole (137km, +4,600m), our Championship riders were easily recognizable with their golden bike plates. I you're fast enought, you might have seen some of them during the race, on Saturday!

The weather conditions were perfect (sunny, max. 28°C) and all the parameters were in place for a great day of cycling. On the top of Col de la Couillole and after 05:38:29 on the bike, Selina BURCH became the 2024 L'Étape Series female champion (2nd position - Overall W). After winning L'Étape Switzerland in 2023, our Swiss champion add another line to her palmares! A prestigious victory that preceded another great cycling journey, as Selina decided to come back home ... by bike!

On the male side, the victory went to Lubomir MURARIK from L'Étape Slovakia. With an official time of 05:03:33, he succeeded to Alex DESTRIBOIS-COUDROY and became the new L'Étape Series male champion!

A VIP program for our Champions

By finishing in the Top 3 of one L'Étape Series' events, our Championship riders automatically qualified for the final on L'Étape du Tour 2024 in Nice, France. With their status, they benefited from exclusive advantages:

Free bib for L'Étape du Tour ;
Start in wave 0, with all the best riders ;
Invitation to a warm-up ride the day before the race ;
Official riders presentation on the race village main stage ;

This year, the warm-up ride brought our Championship riders to the top of one of the most famous climb of the region, the Col d'Eze (10km, avg. 5%), for a bit more than 37km along the French Riviera seaside. The perfect way to shake legs before D-Day!

Road to L'Étape du Tour 2025

L'Étape du Tour 2024 is just over and all eyes are already focus on the next edition! The route of L'Étape du Tour 2025 will be released during the Tour de France 2025 presentation, on October 29th, in Paris. The new Championship cohort, gathering the riders that qualified in 2024 from January 1st to December 31st, will received their invitation just after the announcement.
