Reviva o L'Étape Brasil by Tour de France presented by Santander 2022
On September 25th, 3.250 riders took the start of L'Etape Brasil by Tour de France 2022.
From September 23rd to 25th, Campos do Jordão hosted a great cyling party with the 8th edition of L'Etape Brasil by Tour de France. This year has certainly been a big step forward, with live streaming and the Virtual L'Étape happening simultaneously. Look back on this amazing cycling festival!
Race Village
The village of L'Etape Brasil by Tour de France was very busy this year. From Friday to Saturday, thousands of people came to visit this amazing cycling exposition with a lots of exhibitors including the sponsors of the event such as Santander, Shimano, Continental or Mitsubishi. Riders and fans had both the opportunity to test products and discover many animations all along the week-end.
The Race
On Sunday October, 25th, 3,250 riders took the start of one of the two race formats: the Long Race (107km - 2330m elevation) or the Short Race (66km - 1330m elevation). In a cold but still sunny morning, the first riders started their journey accross the state of São Paulo. After few hours, the weather got warmer and participants trully had perfect conditions to ride.
The Long Race had an impressive finish between four riders that fought for the victory in a crazy final sprint. In the end, Vicente Rodrigo ROJAS NARANJO was the first to cross the line with a time of 02:54:47. In the female competition, Fernanda MACEIRA MARTELLO succeed in solo after a 03:22:59 ride.
Started at 7:30AM, the first riders of the Short Race crossed the finish line around 9:15AM with the victory of Pedro Victor FONSECA SILVA for the male race, with a time of 01:46:40. On her side, Camila ALIPERTI ANGULO won the female race after a 02:03:58 ride.

Pedalando para o Futuro
"Pedalando para o Futuro" is a new program integrated to L'Etape Brasil by Tour de France. It have been conducted accross all Campos do Jordão schools along the year. With "Pedalando para o Futuro", the children have been invited to think about the role of bicycle in the daily city life. All along the year, they produced draws and models to present their ideas. Their projects were exposed on L'Etape Brasil by Tour de France race village, next to the Musée du Tour. The best projects havre been then rewarded during a (crowdy) podium ceremony where kids and teachers received official trophies.
In addition and in order to give a practical dimension to the program, an amazing pumptrack have been created for the people of Campos do Jordão,
All initiatives have made the "Pedalando para o Futuro" program a real social success that gathered around 3,000 children and hundreds of teachers. No doubts that it will be reconduct in 2023!
