L’ Étape Greece by Tour de France returns!

In the heart of spring, Ancient Olympia once again becomes the center of global cycling, hosting the largest cycling event that has now become an institution, welcoming over 2,000 cyclists and visitors from around the world.

L’ Étape Greece offers an exciting cycling experience infused with the atmosphere of the legendary Tour de France in a unique travel destination. It caters to both amateur athletes and cycling enthusiasts. Participants will have the opportunity to test their endurance across three routes, navigating terrain that blends Greek nature and ancient history, on closed courses around the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The event is supported by the assurance of the Tour de France’s top-tier safety standards and the expertise of EY ZHN Greece.

The main route, The Race, features a 130 km loop with a challenging, stunning route and an elevation gain of 2,000 meters. The shorter route, The Ride, is a 75 km fast-paced yet equally scenic route with an elevation gain of 1,000 meters. The gentle 17 km route, The Fun Ride, designed for cyclists aged 9 to 99, is non-competitive and runs on flat terrain, making it perfect for children, families, and new cycling enthusiasts. All three routes pass by ancient temples, picturesque villages surrounded by olive groves, Byzantine churches, wildflower-covered hills, and conclude in Ancient Olympia.

This grand cycling celebration continues to gain an ever-growing audience each year, fostering a cycling culture in Greece and bringing cyclists of all ages from every corner of the globe to a historic site to share unforgettable moments and emotions through sports.
