Last weekend, the magic of the Tour de France arrived in the Middle East for the first time with the inaugural edition of L’Étape Dubai by Tour de France, that officially launch the Series 2025 season. A truly unique event that gave to more than 1.000 lucky participants the opportunity to experience the thrill of the iconic race in perfect weather conditions, with breathtaking views of Burj Khalifa and the surrounding desert.
A cycling week-end for everyone
The festivities kicked off on Saturday morning with special events for young riders and families. The Kids Races (three formats: 300m, 800m, and 1800m, depending on age), and a Family Ride of 20 km took place at Dubai Expo City, right next to the Race Village. A perfect way to start this week-end of cycling!
Fast and Scenic Races
On Sunday morning, the main races (50 km and 100 km) started from Dubai Design District (D3) and headed toward Dubai Expo City. With a perfect cycling weather - sunny, 15°C at the start and no wind - the courses offered some stunning views on Burj Khalifa, the vast desert, and Dubai’s striking landscapes. These conditions, combined with the profile of the courses, resulted in extremely fast races offering an exciting challenge to all participants ... and lots of PBs on Strava !
An Unforgettable Experience for Spectators
More than just a cycling race, L’Étape Dubai by Tour de France also delivered an unforgettable experience for both participants and spectators, offering them the legendary Tour de France atmosphere all along the races route.
At the village in Dubai Expo City, the excitement continued off the track, with entertainment, music, food trucks, fun activities, and exclusive merchandise. The festive atmosphere made the event a true celebration of cycling, attracting both riders, their family, their friends, and everyone that wanted to be part of this unique event.
After this incredible success, L’Étape Dubai by Tour de France has firmly established itself as a must-attend event for cycling enthusiasts in the region. The countdown now begins for the next edition, promising even more excitement and unforgettable moments on the roads of Dubai!
